Experiencing Copenhagen's Culinary Scene
One of the things I'd heard about Copenhagen even before arriving was that it has an amazing culinary scene. Two of the main aspects of this culinary scene are bakeries and new nordic cuisine (a modern version of Scandinavian food that prioritizes local and sustainable ingredients). As somewhat of a foodie myself, I was excited to try some of these things that Copenhagen had to offer. Along the way, I've figured out a couple ways to enjoy food in Copenhagen in a more affordable way.
Too Good to Go
Too Good to Go is an app that allows people to purchase heavily discounted mystery boxes (or bags) of food that will soon expire or go stale. I almost entirely use this app at bakeries, and because of its help, I've never had to purchase any bread product at the regular grocery store! Here is a sample of the bags I've received through the Too Good to Go app:

This bag was from Bodenhoff Bageri, and cost DKK 49.00. These were the full contents:

This bag was from Reinh van Hauen, and cost DKK 39.00. These were the full contents:

Early Bird
Early Bird is an app that lets you book a set menu meal day-of for 2/3 of the usual price. Essentially, you can try meals from fancy restaurants for a major discount. Since they're still pricey meals, I've tried out the app a couple of times for special occasions when family or friends were visiting me.
This lunch was from Aamanns Replik, and cost DKK 330 per person for the meat option, and DKK 210 for the vegetarian option. My core course professors had recommended it as the best smørrebrød in Copenhagen!

This dinner was from Aamanns 1921, and cost DKK 487 per person. The oxtail ravioli with hazelnuts and sage may have been the best thing I've ever eaten.

This was the view from the restaurant and appetizers at Lago. The dinner cost DKK 330 per person. I was having such a great time that I forgot to take photos of the other courses!
